Seriously Tempted

I'm a firm believer of making sure that if you get a tattoo it means something- some sort of sentimental value or a representative of you as a person. So, when I was 20 and got the butterfly tramp stamp that's on my back I was obviously placing importance on the need to declare myself an independent adult. Something like that.

Now that I'm a little older and wiser I've been toying around with the idea of getting another tattoo- one that actually means something to me. While reading the blog Life is Short- Read Fast I saw one that would be perfect:

The size is ideal, and the simple design is as well. I'm not completely sold on the location, since I hear foot tattoos are incredibly painful. On the other hand, I don't have a ton of options because I want one that I can cover up (here it would be with shoe) and that won't be shot to shit when I decide to have kids.

To be continued...

  1. Also, foot tattoos require constant love and attention. My friend has one and she has had it touched up twice and it still looks like a blob.

    If/When I get a tattoo, I want a lightning bolt.

  2. Love the book tatoo! I toy with the idea, but I'm a wimp when it comes to pain.

  3. I love that idea. However, I pass out from getting shots so this is probably slightly out of my pain threshold.

  4. Such a cute tattoo!

I really wanted my favorite bible verse tattooed on my foot after I finished my first marathon but then I was told I wouldn't be able to run for weeks so I didn't get it. Is that a bad reason to not get a tattoo? I still want one, maybe I should do more research.

  5. I would love to get a tattoo but I'm not attached to anything enough. I have a friend who has a tattoo on the TOP of her foot and I get pain every time I see it. However, it looks amazing!

I love the books. Really fits!

  6. I have ones on my pelvic bone and upper butt, got way WAY too fat while pregnant (like twice what I should have because of my damn thyroid), even had a CSection, and they are both fine. My roommate got one on her toe and she flinched and messed it up, plus it rubbed off almost immediately because it's hard to go deep enough on a foot. Hope that helps!
