This week the Broke and the Bookish ask us to once again look at books with great covers. I have to confess- I have read half of these, but I own them and can still appreciate the covers!
|
[Building Stories; The Lover's Dictionary; Where Children Sleep; Petropolis] |
|
[Solo; Beautiful Ruins] |
|
[Idiopathy; The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry; The Book of Other People; Where'd You Go, Bernadette?] |
Do you judge a book by it's cover (I'm definitely occasionally guilty!)? Any weaknesses? What made your list?
Love the way you set up your list this week! The covers for The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry and Where'd You Go, Bernadette? are awesome and quirky =D And Beautiful Ruins is just gorgeous <3

I really try not to judge books by their covers, and for the most part I'm pretty good about it. There are times, though, and I can't help it. Either I end up really disappointed (amazingly gorgeous cover that outdoes the story) or pleasantly surprised (for those books with some questionable covers).
ReplyDeleteThe Lover's Dictionary is one I like, because the design is so simple, but it pops out at you. It's a cover that's difficult not to notice.
I usually prefer those illustrated or minimalist kinds...so I like the looks of the ones you picked. Haven't read any of them though.
ReplyDeleteAmazing covers! I love Solo and Building Stories particularly. I am forever guilty of judging books by their covers, it's always the first thing that grabs me.
ReplyDeleteNice choices! Some day, I WILL treat myself to Building Stories. Loved Beautiful Ruins and Bernadette (the books and their covers), and I'm looking forward to a few more on your list. And yes, I do pick books by their covers -- sometimes. :)

Your post is beautiful graphically! If it were a book, I'd pick it up for sure. I definitely judge books by their covers. But if a book has an 'ugly' cover, and someone tells me it's a great story, I will read it. Sometimes I love finding those hidden gems. Great covers! Thanks for stopping by my TTT.
ReplyDeleteWoah, the cover of Beautiful Ruins is awesome! I love the postcard look. And I'm definitely a fan of the Lover's Dictionary cover - it's so clean and pretty.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great covers! I'm so glad you included Petropolis, which I forgot when making my own list. It's one that I purchased based almost on the cover alone.
ReplyDeleteI love the cover of Beautiful Ruins. I really want to read that book.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty list! All the colours look so nice and love the cover for Solo.
